For those that have missed it on Twitter, and that follow my blog, many know that along with my normal job of being a SQL Server Geek and Database Administrator, I am also a soldier and Drill Sergeant in the US Army Reserves. Just over a week ago I found out that I am being called to Active Duty to be mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in what I can only assume at this point will be Afghanistan. I am tenatively set to leave August 3, 2009, which means that I won't be able to blog regularly for a period of approximately 400 days. I'll be posting updates when possible, as well as continuing to develop the Extended Events Manager as a SSMS Addin while I am away. Until then I plan to continue as normal, posting interesting tidbits related to SQL Server. I've requested that Adam Machanic present my session on Extended Events at PASS Summit this year, and working to make sure that my other contributions to the community are covered while I am out. I look forward to returning to the community in a year and once again being able to work with everyone that I have in the past.
