This presentation details a typical DBA's day, demonstrating the new improvements of the Management Platform made for Microsoft SQL Server 2008. These improvements include more efficient system management, multi-server management, performance tracking, policy creation, state detection and enforcement, and using both graphical and command-line tools. We will cover everything from the new Management Interfaces to Policy Based Management, including a practical demonstration of PowerShell integration in SQL Server administration tasks.
As a program manager for Microsoft SQL Server, Buck Woody provides leadership on feature sets within SQL Server, as well as leads team of developers and testers.
