Recent Webcasts on Parallel Processing Available for Download

While preparing the material for my PASS Summit post-con on parallelism and parallel processing I realized that I could easily take a few chunks out, modify them a bit, and create some nice standalone webcasts. So I did just that, and delivered two sessions, one for the PASS Performance Virtual Chapter and another for the PASS Application Development Virtual Chapter.

Both of these sessions were recorded and are available for your viewing pleasure:

And speaking of the post-con, I've now finished prepping it and I have to say that it came out quite well. Weighing in at a massive 178 slides and 25 demos it will be a dense day to be sure, but I can promise you that it will be a day absolutely packed with interesting material for my core audience: the hardcore DBAs, developers, and -- of course -- geeks.

We'll start with a bit of 200-level history and theory then ramp up quite quickly and spend most of the day in 300-level and 400-level internals land. You'll leave with a deep understanding of how parallelism works, options and tradeoffs for various settings, and I'll show you some fascinating query patterns and techniques that will help you immediately speed up big queries and batch processes.

Check out the webcasts for a preview of some of the material that will be covered. It's not too late to register and I hope you'll join me in Seattle!

Enjoy!
